Inactive Ingredients
Beyond Coastal noncomedogenic inactives are full of ingredients that NOURISH, REPAIR and HYDRATE your skin. Rather than just have ingredients that preserve, bind or thicken a formula we strive to include ingredients that do double duty as ANTI-OXIDANTS, SKIN RESTORERS, MOISTURIZERS and HYDRATORS.
At Beyond Coastal we try to fill our formulas with inactives that do good things for your skin. As an example: two of our inactive ingredients, Shea Butter and Jojoba Seed Oil, have been shown to offer UVB protection.
In an effort to combat free radicals caused by UVA rays we have added Green Tea Extract, Vitamins C and E, Grape Seed Extract, Alpha Lipoic Acid and Algaie Extract to our formulas.
We include Cocoa Seed Butter, Comfrey Extract, Rose Hip Oil and Aloe Vera to help restore and rejuvenate the skin. Our AfterSun Moisturizer contains two powerful ANTI-AGING ingredients Matrixyl and Rigin along with Copper Peptides, Marigold and Chamomile Oil.
Our goal is to use natural ingredients that are good for your skin whenever possible. The definition of natural is a moving target and taken to the extreme you could say there are no natural sunscreens - except for mud packs and accumulated layers of dirt. Maybe not taking a shower is the natural sunscreen answer!
Given that's not an option for many of us, Beyond Coastal uses sources such as the Whole Foods Premium Bodycare Unacceptable List and the Enivronmental Working Group's Skin Deep Cosmetic Database to determine which inactives are best for your skin.
